Taylor Swift is many things—famous, beloved, very rich, and so on—but to many people right now, she is primarily one thing. And that is: annoying. Because Taylor Swift is everywhere. She is there if you want to watch a football game. She is there if you want to check in on social media. She is there on the op-ed page. She is there if you just want to browse other topics like pop music in general. You cannot escape Taylor Swift.

This has happened to her before. She reacted by retreating from having a super-public life for a while. (You can feel however you want about the Kimye drama, but that she drastically lowered her profile is true.) Now she’s done with that. Or at least she’s done with that for now.
