I had grand plans to ring out the old year watching one of the very long movies perpetually bumping around on my “to watch” list—Barry Lyndon, Fanny & Alexander, Drive My Car, and so on, with a glass of Lautus Sparkling Brut Non-Alcoholic Champagne Style Wine¹ in hand—but one thing led to another and I ended up watching some of the first season of the Twilight Zone instead.²

Anyway, the episode of the Twilight Zone that really surprised me was called “The Lonely.” It’s short and you can watch it free-with-ads on Amazon even if you don’t have a Prime account (I don’t at this time), so, you know—if you want a pristine Twilight Zone experience go and watch it and then come back. Otherwise, you’ve been warned.
